The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Innovation Technologist to join our team located in Bairnsdale. Are you the next passionate Innovation professional wanting to join the ‘world's biggest bakery' and be part of our exciting business journey?

Reporting to Innovation Manager, your role will encompass end to end New Product Development from concept through to implementation and commercialisation. This role requires your technical expertise to support the successful creation and manufacture of new products either manufactured at Patties Bairnsdale site as well as other Patties Foods sites (ANZ) or third-party manufacturers. Product development includes creating new products for Australian and international markets.

The Patties Innovation Team works across the Patties ANZ Business. You will work with Operations, ingredient suppliers, procurement, Quality Team and packaging and marketing specialists to deliver the product development project as well as develop safe and quality products, within timelines and project budgets. As part of the role, you will have career development opportunities.

To be considered for this role you have a degree in Food Science and Technology or equivalent with at least 5 years' experience in a similar role with a proven track record of working in NPD in an FMCG food manufacturing business. You will have strong communication skills, high abstract reasoning and problem-solving skills. You will be creative and comfortable working in an evolving and changing environment. Experience in baked foods is highly desirable. You will also have the ability to learn across multiple food technology platforms including - ready meals, chilled, frozen and sweet and savoury baked goods.
